
ISLAMABAD: On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan dismissed a petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League( Nawaz) seeking the removal of chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice (R) Javed Iqbal from his post.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar decided over the petition filed by PML-N leader Noor Ahmed Awan during a brief-in-chamber session.
Awan had filed a constitutional petition against the NAB chairman in the Supreme Court on May 12.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif demanded the NAB chairman to step down from his post over a NAB’s press release against him
The NAB press release stated after a news item published by a local newspaper incorrectly referenced the World Bank’s 2016 Migration and Remittance Book to say that India’s foreign exchange reserves increased by $4.9 billion due to huge cash inflows from Pakistan attributable to money laundering by the Sharif family.
PML(N) supreme leader also demanded a written apology to be published in all Urdu and English newspapers outlet.
