KARACHI: Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar said that the government should pay attention to the ‘Karachi Development Plan’ and there will no need for the National Action Plan (NAP) and Karachi Operation.
He was speaking to journalists outside the Sindh Assembly on Friday. “If Karachi develops there will be no need for NAP or the Karachi Operation,” he said.
He said that his party the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan wants to work with all political parties.
The mayor said that infrastructure of the city had collapsed and providing drinking water to people had become a challenge.
“If Karachi prospers all of Sindh will prosper,” he said.
He added that visiting the Sindh Assembly after so long had brought back old memories.
Akhtar spent over 100 days in jail after his arrest on July 19. He was released this week after the court granted him bail in all 39 cases against him.
