Smog in Lahore rises to dangerous level

On Wednesday, Lahore’s air quality dropped to dangerous levels again, as citizens reported waking up to a hazy morning.

At 10am the Air Quality Index (AQI) was reported at 466 by Lahore Air, a private initiative to monitor the city’s toxic air.

Last time a soupy air blanketed the city, with AQI dropping to 800, the Punjab government shut down schools for a single day. Till the filing of this report, there has been no response from the federal minister and the minister of state for climate change.
