Two gangsters killed in Rangers encounter in Karachi

KARACHI: At least two gangsters were killed in an armed encounter with personnel of paramilitary force in Karachi area of Musharraf Colony where two troops also sustained injuries.


According to the Rangers spokesman, the paratroopers took along an arrested gangster with them to launch a raid in Musharraf Colony to nail his fellows.

However, the criminals opened fire at the Rangers forcing them to return the attack. As a result, the arrested gangster and one of his accomplices were killed in the crossfire.

A gangster has been arrested in injured state. Two Rangers personnel sustained wounds in the exchange of gunfire. Firearms and a hand grenade were recovered from possession of the criminals.

Meantime, local police claimed to have arrested a mugger after an armed encounter in the city area of Clifton Block-6.
