ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court spokesperson on Friday has said that the controversial judge of Accountability Bureau Arshad Malik will be removed from his post.
For this matter, the IHC has approached the law ministry to further take up the actions against the judge who is the central character of the controversy revolving around giving a verdict in Avenfield against Nawaz.
The judge earlier in the day had written a letter to the IHC refuting Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz’s allegations and a video purportedly showing the judge admitting that Nawaz was innocent as he was pressurized to convict the latter.
Last week, the PML-N had released a video clip of the so-called judge video scandal allegedly embroiling Malik in a press conference by party leaders.
According to sources, in an affidavit submitted to the IHC, Arshad Malik denied the contents of the video and termed them as edited, fabricated, aimed to defame him, sources said.
According to an IHC spokesperson, acting IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq has received Judge Malik’s letter and will give an appropriate order after that.
