WEB DESK: The King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, has launched August issue of Vogue India, featuring his own daughter Suhana Khan as a face of the month at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2018, on Tuesday.
The Magazine cover reads: Hello Suhana Khan a “student, theatre lover, future star.”
While giving interview to magazine, she said “I absolutely loved shooting this cover,” Suhana says in the interview. “Especially the dancing shots. I love dancing! It was so much fun. I was excited when my parents brought it up. I wanted to say yes straight away, but they wanted me to think about it as this a very public thing. They wanted me to gain confidence from the experience, not lose it
On the other side, Gauri Khan and Shahrukh Khan couldn’t contain their parent-ly pride and took to twitter to tell the world about how proud they’re of their daughter.
Holding her in my arms again thanks to Vogue. ‘What imperfect carriers of love we are…” except when it comes to our children. So sending u all my love & a big hug. Hello Suhana Khan! pic.twitter.com/RrkhJ8kfz5

Awesome shoot with Suhana… @VOGUEIndia.

But things did not go down well with audience, Suhana’s magazine debut has stirred a whole new debate over social media on extreme “Nepotism” and has landed Vogue India into hot water.
Really don’t believe in celebrity bashing, but why is Suhana Khan is on the cover of Vogue?
Technically this isn’t even celebrity bashing, because she’s not one, her father is.
My dad is an accountant, will ICAI put me on their monthly magazine cover?

Why Suhana Khan is on the cover of Vogue India?
Give me 1 reason except she’s the daughter of.

Student, theatre lover, future star, daughter of a star who will probably finance all her movies till she actually becomes a ‘star’…. but yea hello Suhana Khan.

Meanwhile Suhana Khan needs vogue india handed to her on a platter without doing a damn thing. Good job BW, keep it up! 🤦🏾♀️ https://t.co/Hr3WnV3X2K

So disappointed with Suhana Khan on the cover of Vogue India. I think they need to work a little harder for cover stars rather than just doing it to make Bollywood happy

A struggling TV actor also joined the bandwagon and unleashed the bitter reality of Bollywood about how it is a piece of cake for the heirs of Bollywood stars to make it to Vogue and movie industry, whereas people with no superstar backing have to face faliures and criticisms.
Imagine going everyday for a new test and getting rejected over and over again due to XYZ reasons. And trust me, the reason isn’t talent ALL THE TIME. It varies.

Last month, Jhanvi Kapoor, daughter of late Sri Devi, was the face of Vogue’s India June issue and she also faced flak for getting featured on cover photo with no personal achievements in her basket, called it an act of “Nepotism”
Suhana Khan on the cover of Vogue almost feels like she saw Jahnvi Kapoor and went “Papa, mereko bhi chahiye”!

After enduring much opprobrium from every corner of country, Magazine disabled comments on all of the debutant’s videos and photos on Instagram eventually, but people didn’t spare them even after that.
.@VOGUEIndia disabling comments on Suhana Khan’s cover and video on Instagram is odd. Isn’t reader feedback important , even if they want to cry nepotism ?

Lol Vogue India is locking comments on all of the Suhana Khan posts on their socials. Long live.
