ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan has dismissed the appeal filed by culprit Imran Ali in Zainab Murder case challenging the death sentence awarded by Anti-Terrorism Court.
Three member bench headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa upheld the ATC verdict against Imran Ali, as the latter court in February awarded the main suspect death sentence for raping and killing a 7 years old minor Zainab in Kasur district.
Zainab murder case became a high-profile case shocing the entire nation over this appalling tragedy.
On February 17, the anti-terrorism court (ATC) hearing the high-profile case sentenced Imran to death four times. Appealing against the ATC verdict, Imran claimed innocence before the Lahore High Court and pleaded for the verdict to be declared null and void.
