KARACHI: Two private security guards deployed outside the office of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in Karachi were shot dead by unidentified assailants on Monday in a suspected attack of targeted killing, police said.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Gulshan Abdullah Memon told Dawn that the shooting incident took place outside the FBR building in the Gulistan-i-Jauhar area of the metropolis, where both the guards were posted.
Police official said that armed riders opened fire on the security guards posted at the office of the central revenue body and fled.
Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) A.D Khowaja took notice of the incident and ordered a probe into it.
The trend of attacking over police personnel, traffic police have risen in recent days. Security officials claim to arrest the assailants, but still this wave is intact, horrifying.
