KABUL: On Thursday, Terrorist in Afghanistan attempted to attack Kabul International Airport which was countered by Afghan forces.
As stated to foreign sources, a number of militants had burst into a building just north of the airport but were promptly surrounded by Afghan military units.
Today on early morning, an explosions and bursts of gunfire were heard near the Afghan capital and black smoke rose above the facility, which is used by civilians and the military, sources stated. Every week militants fire rockets into the airport, doing little damage, but frontal attacks on the heavily guarded facility are rare and represent an ambitious target for insurgents.
He enlightened that no fatal accident has been reported yet and the airport is undamaged while Afghan forces has surrounded the insurgents and situation will come under control soon. There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
