BISHKEK: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday had an informal meeting with Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj during the meeting of Foreign Ministers Council of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
Speaking after the informal meeting, FM Qureshi said he cleared it to Swaraj that Pakistan wants resolution of all issues [with India] through dialogues.
“We are ready for a dialogue even today,” FM Qureshi asserted, adding, “Prime Minister Imran Khan had noted in his first speech that if India takes one step forward, we will take two steps.”
Earlier, during the meeting of SCO Council of Foreign Ministers, Qureshi was seated next to Swaraj.
Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov briefly attended the meeting and said it was an honour for the country to host the Council of Foreign Ministers of SCO.
However, when the foreign ministers had gathered to take a group picture, Swaraj switched her place after realising she was standing next to Qureshi.
