Shawwal moon sighted in Saudi Arabia, Eidul Fitr on Tuesday

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have declared Tuesday (tomorrow) as the first day of Eidul Fitr, according to Gulf News.

While Indonesia and Malaysia declared Wednesday as the first day of Eid, Iraq will celebrate Eid on Tuesday, said the publication.

In Pakistan, Eid is expected to fall on Tuesday but the final announcement is subjected to moonsighting.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal committee will convene on Tuesday for moonsighting, although Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said Eid will fall on June 5 which his lunar calendar has predicted.

Eidul Fitr celebrations mark the conclusion of the Holy month of Ramazan during which Muslims all over the world observe 30 days of fasting.
