U.S. bombers strike Islamic State militants in Libya: defense officials

U.S. B-2 bombers carried out air strikes against Islamic State camps outside of Sirte, Libya on Wednesday night, two U.S. defense officials said on Thursday.

The officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the strikes were carried out 45 km (28 miles) southwest of Sirte and done in cooperation with the U.N.-backed Government of National Accord (GNA).
